Hello and thank you for wanting to know more about me. Here, have a slice of pizza!
My name is Derek and I love pizza. In New York City, where I am from, there are many places to eat pizza. If you really love pizza, there is no length to which you will go to find the very best. That is my attitude towards design but somethings have changed.
In Tokyo, where I am currently, pizza is different and now includes different toppings such as: mayonaise, kimchi and seaweed. This is how my sensibilities have changed. What is the best? I don’t know anymore but I will take risks and experiment to find out. Cheese, rice cake (mochi 餅), seaweed and spicy fish eggs (mentaiko 明太子) on a pizza, sound good? You’d be surprised! This is my new attitude towards design.
