Hey everybody, things are going great in Hong Kong. Macau on the other hand was not so great. I had great expectations about Macau but like other gambling venues, Macau is a place you go for a night and thats it. The casinos were small and pretty empty. The most interesting thing about the casinos was that the slot machines are silent and the only thing you hear throughout the casinos are loud shouting and loud talking. The casinos were pretty quiet. Besides the casinos, Macau is a pretty colorful tourist trap. The exchange rate is similar to Hong Kong so they accept HK dollars so I didnt have to exchange my money. Ryan and I happened upon this hotel with a sweet view, which I will post later.
Currently, Ryan and I are back in Hong Kong and booked a room at this place called, get this,…. The Poon Loong Hotel. ahahahah in a neighborhood called MongKok. Wait it gets better, the hotel is located near Bute street. Omg, the crazy things I have seen here in Hong Kong. I wish I had the time to write it down but this post would be too long. I will give you a brief overview though, philipino/indonesian prostitutes, live fish getting carved up, so fresh the brain still pulsates, bootleggers, rude and annoying foreigners, shady hotel rooms, endless shopping, ferry boats and so much more. I dont have the energy to write everything down but its good stuff. Hong Kong is exciting and interesting but I am starting to miss Tokyo. I dont like the every man for him/herself mentality here in Hong Kong. But I also realize that Japan has made me soft and I am a bit pissed about that.
I finally watched Hero with Jet Li. This movie has very beautiful scenery. To sum up the plot without giving the story away, the Ruler of Qin wants to conquer and unify China but is constantly threatened by three fearsome assassins. One day, the King of Qin is told he can sleep easy now because a nameless stranger appears with the three assassins weapons in hand. Thus begins the story of the nameless stranger’s surprising victories.
Thats it, my roommate and I are going to have a chat later tonight. Why do women always make men turn into pricks? My roommate who is generally a nice guy turns into an inconsiderate fucker when his chick is around, wtf? This morning, I tried to brush my teeth and wash my face but there was no water!!! Why you might ask, I dont know but I think maybe because he and his chick used up all the water!!! I am going to have a serious talk because not only that, I guess late that night, the fucker snuck into my room and turned off my heater and lights. Why did he creep up in my shit?!! Thats it, tonight its on and if I have to kick his ass, I will.
I dont play that. I need to get my own place, this shit is ridiculous. Hide’s now on my shitlist.
My goodness, waiting for the last days to finish before I leave for Hong Kong/Macau is torture. I cant wait to get on that plane and leave Japan for a while. I need to recharge my batteries and have a change of scenery. Oh btw, I applied for my visa renewal, I hope I get the 3 year visa. I will keep my fingers crossed.
While I wait anxiously for my departure to Hong Kong/Macau, I have been keeping busy with my guitar, hanging with friends, last minute shopping and studying Japanese. I am beginning to feel the grind like back in NYC. Work for the weekends or vacations, this is not how I want to live. Something has to change. I dont know what but something must change.
I saw I am Legend and this movie wasnt that great. I dont want to spoil the movie for those who want to drop the paper to watch this movie. I would wait for the dvd or play on hbo on demand or something. I saw a much better movie called Godfather II, hehe a trusty stand by for good entertainment. Its weird seeing, Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro look so young. Also the faces of Robert Duvall, Talia Shire aka Rocky’s wife and Diane Keaton.
