WTF?!!! Saturday…

What should have been a great night ended really bad. First, I met up with Jesse in Roppongi to celebrate a mutual friends birthday, Takeshi and Jesse showed up 1.5 hrs late. But after we met up at this place called Pilgrim we decided to go to Muse. Along the way I met this really cool girl named Atsuko. Atsuko and I had ramen and chatted before going to Muse. Atsuko is a designer for the marketing department of Apple, Japan and has really good English. I felt a connection with Atsuko because we share many things in common and we saw eye to eye with our humor. Atsuko is a great girl, for sure. But here is where the night took a turn for the worse. I saw Eli’s friends in the club. The effing drama! In no time, we saw me and Eli came to Muse. WTF?!! I didn’t think much of it since, I made it clear that I didn’t want anything to do with her but she thought otherwise. In the most massive cockblocking effort constructed, Eli crept up to where Atsuko and I were chatting, the night was progressing very smoothly until this point in time, Eli the crazy bitch, said that I was her boyfriend and tried to pull me away. Eli caused a scene by trying to drag me out and I was so embarassed and knew her sole purpose was to ruin any chances I had with Atsuko, whom I really like. Why are girls such bitchez sometimes?? What made matters worse is that when I pulled away and wanted to walk away with Atsuko, Eli, the effing bitch smacked me! A sonic boom of a smack, everyones head turned in the club. WTF?!! I seriously will NEVER go out with a Korean girl again, those bitchez are crazy! I knew the night wasn’t salvageable since, I knew I looked really bad. Everyone probably thought I was a cheating son of a bitch but I wasn’t. All because of a jealous and stupid mega cockblocking bitch. Never again, never again. I am really upset now because I really like Atsuko, I never met a girl that I had so much in common with and she is hot too. All ruined by jealously. What did I do to deserve this? I acted gentlemanly when telling Eli that I just couldn’t see us having a relationship because there was no communication. Also Eli admitted to me that she was seeing someone else on the side, which took a load off my mind. WTF?!! I behaved morally and ethically and what did I get in return… A mega cockblock with a slap. Anyway, I won’t let that get me down because I know I am a good person and acted properly and without fault. I just can’t help but think about what Atsuko thinks about me now. Seriously, I looked like a cheating motherfucker and that’s not what I am about. But I will look back at this day in a month or so and laugh. Oh the memories…

Wednesdays… Always interesting…

Hey yall, sorry for not posting anything significant lately. Yesterday, Wednesday was pretty interesting. After having lunch with a friend. I met up with Liza, Lori, Liza’s brother Matt and Matt’s friend John to watch a Tokyo Giants game. The the game itself was okay, the played the Yokohama Baystars and won. Dayum it! Anyway, the most interesting part of the game wasn’t the game itself but the American culture shock I experienced while watching the game. We sat in front of some Americans who were from California and it was interesting. First of all, I never realized how loud and obnoxious Americans are, but we do know how to have fun. “The American” section that we were sitting in was the most loud and rowdy. The Japanese sit there and cheer for the home team but pretty tame compared to back at home. Also the Japanese don’t criticize and yell at players/coaches but its part of the fun when going to the game. Another thing that was interesting to me was that the people behind us were talking about how “the Dominicans are taking away jobs from the blacks”. That statement made Lori and I look at each other. I understand why that Japanese speak in that manner, its mainly due to their lack of English ability but to hear a native person speak in such blunt and untactful terms was pretty interesting for me. This stems from an interesting discussion I had with Lori about race and ethnicity but I digress. I can’t imagine the experiences I will have back at home because in Japan I don’t understand what’s going on around me but at the game, I was able to listen to the idiotic banter going on behind us. It was weird. Besides the game, there was a train incident in which we ran into some lucky guy who caught a foul ball. Everyone wanted a picture with the ball and grabbed at the Japanese guy. I understand that their intentions were just to have a picture but I recall language like “Give me that” and actions such as grabbing the ball out of the hand of the Japanese guy, that was interesting. Initially I found that quite rude but then again, I am American and that what we do, afterwards the Japanese guy got high fives, pats on the back and some cheers. Its funny. What is Japan doing to my psyche? I have to get out of this country if only for a little while. All in all, it was a good day that gave me a lot of perspective. I will no longer look at actions with a critical eye but I will try to be more objective and try to understand my responses to people’s actions.

Can’t wait to move…

Things have been going very well this new contract. Everything except the work that is. My teaching situation has been wearing thin lately. The students are stupid and boring and show no signs of improvement. Honestly, teaching English in Japan is a bit of a joke except time with the kids. Those little shits absorb language like sponges. When I have children I will send them off to language school. Besides work, as I mentioned before I am really excited to moving to Shimokitazawa and meet the new roommates. I have been meeting many nice people lately and I hope I can keep this momentum going. After I move, I won’t have any money to travel outside Japan for Golden Week but that’s okay.

I have rediscovered the awesomeness of the 90′s TV show, MacGyver. I forgot how ridiculous that show was! How to use a map according to Macgyver :

Besides 80′s TV shows and moving, I never noticed how annoying “The Dirty Jap” is. For those who don’t know, “The Dirty Jap” is my roommate in Takadanobaba, Hide. Dude kept me up by eating effing pickles all night long. WTF?!! Who knew pickles could make such a racket! And who knew someone could eat pickles for 2 hours. Dude also makes gay and weird noises for every action that requires any effort. For example, getting up from a sitting position, yooshi. And stupid noises for when he’s tired or when he’s stretching. What a weird fucker! I can’t wait to leave, the only concern that I have is… Are Japanese girls more weird than Japanese guys to live with? We will see…

My life in Japan through where I live..

I have been thinking a lot lately about my time in Japan and its relation to where I am living. Tomioka was like Elementary School, where you live in a place because you have no choice. During my time in Japan during that time, i was clueless and everything was new and fresh. Then I moved to Takadanobaba, which is like college. You move out of your shithole of a neighborhood and begin living in a place where the action is but once you are out of college, this type of environment is no longer appealing. Now I am moving to Shimokitazawa, which reminds of me of your first job out of school. You are starting to live a real life and you crave more stimulation and your interests start to develop. Shimokita as it will be referred to from now on, is a cool neighborhood with a yuppie and trendy charm to it. But what will be next? Maybe Ebisu, to signify a higher paying, new job and the perks that come with obtaining a better job. Then the final destination, when you finally ARRIVE, Azubu Juban? Daikanyama? Roppongi Hills? Who knows but all I have to say is, what a freaking adventure this Japan thing has been.
