I was in a bit of a jam but now I am back again. Thanks to all my friends that have helped me through uncertain times. I have been out of the loop lately, all wrapped up with Mina but when I needed help, all my good friends were looking out for me, in Japan and back at home. Thank you guys for being there when I needed you. My perspective on my situation has changed and I know that no matter what happens, everything will be okay.
Everyone seems to have their birthday on the same day in Japan. I definitely will do my share of drinking this weekend, so to prepare for the splurging, I have took on another assignment. This one is for codejock.com, a graphical user interface (gui) company. They wanted a cog design so I gave them a cog design, this is not my best work but its a beginning. I needs something but I am too tired right now to finish it up. Here’s what I have so far:
Well, I am off to bed. I won’t stop, can’t stop, designing. I am glad to be designing again, I can feel the creative juices flowing. Other projects that I want to do are: finally take a Japanese packaging class, paint and draw again and do a video. We will see how much I actually do but I have ideas and that’s a start.
Hey yall, I don’t think I got the Dictionary.com account. So I have been working on a new project for Ekeko Marketing. The inspiration for this design was Bolivian pottery, since the word Ekeko is the Bolivian god of plenty. Ekeko wanted tribal-esque yet professional. I opted for a design inspired by the Lion King. Here it is:
The guys at dictionary.com will make a decision on the new logo in two days. I have been busting my ass and came up with a new favorite. What do you think? Honestly, I am sick of thinking about dictionaries and can’t wait to see what they choose. Well, here is my logo:
Sticker-esque logo design
Glass button logo design
This is a huge account so I will fight for this until the bitter end. Comments please!
Hello everyone. Designing has taken up all my free time and I am loving it. I have finished a logo for dictionary.com but I think it needs something. I have put a lot of thought into the logo and the one I end up liking looks like it took 10 seconds to design. Font choice was easy, I ended up using Rockwell because I like how the block serifs look. Rockwell is bold and conveys authority. I really like the ‘Q’ in the Rockwell typeface but I cannot use it in this design. Well enough talk, here is my design:
What do you think?
Besides designing, I have been studying a lot of Japanese lately and the other day, I helped someone entirely using Japanese. It was simple but I was able to use my new vocabulary. Oh and I am able to read kanji much better now. I have been reading the Japanese mange One Piece in Japanese also!
